I was friendly with many different groups of people and this helped me get into even more trouble. During my years there, I continued to play soccer. I loved soccer! I loved it even more once they taught us how to slide tackle! I remember once breaking a girl’s nose (who happened to be on our team) because she was in my way and I decided to just kick the ball right up at her (Well, it didn’t happen quite like that, but it sounds cooler that way). She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, I kicked and down she went. I can ramble on and on about high school. So much happened, so many good things, so many bad. I can name a few occasions when the cops came to the house because either I was up to no good, or my friends and I were. Let me tell you about the first time I came home drunk. MOM & DAD– Finally the truth. Curtiss Wright is a place in town where we would all go to party. Everyone in H.S. partied there. It was secluded, out in the woods in what used to be a bomb shelter. I was there with my friends when Nancy introduced me to vodka. She brought a large bottle of Absolut and a small bottle of OJ. Notice the discrepancy in beverage quantities. Since the OJ went rather quickly, the vodka was drunk much faster. I was trashed! Bombed! Oblivious! I remember going to a football game and setting my hair on fire because I was trying to light a cigarette (haven’t smoked in 1 yr). I also remember going to McDonalds (that was our other H.S. hangout) and running around like a mad-girl. Then I remember going home and being given strict instructions from Nancy. “Lynn, go right in your house and go to bed. Do not let your mother or father see you.” So in I walked. Got right in the door, walked up one stair and BANG, went down like a ton of bricks. Not only did I fall, I started crying hysterically and telling my parents that someone evil at McDonalds had spiked my drink. COME ON?! They bought it...or at least pretended to. My lesson was learned that night, puke, puke, puke. Ahh…high school memories! |
